| Cuaron on directing a future HP movie |
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban director Alfonso Cuaron recently spoke with ComingSoon.net on the possibility of his directing a future Potter film:
"At this point today? No," he told us
with a smile, "but I can tell you that I spent the most beautiful two years of my life doing 'Harry Potter'. Everything around
the J.K. Rowling product is surrounded by this very beneficial energy. It's fantastic to be around her and associated with
it. I don't know. In the future, if I'm invited, I would consider it definitely because it was such a beautiful experience,
but in the same hand, I'm not very good about repeating stuff that I did before." |
| Emma Watson's new newsletter |
Every time you write to Emma Watson, you will receive the following updated newsletter - quite an interesting read:
Well, after nine months away, I am now back at the studio, as we have started filming "Harry Potter &
The Order of the Phoenix." I can't believe how quickly this last year has gone! I have been back at school, studying hard
for my GCSE's, catching up with friends and family and playing lots of hockey... and now the countdown to my exams really
begins - June is approaching a little too quickly for me! I keep reminding myself of how great it will feel once they are
over and I get to put my books away for a short time - not very Hermione, I know!
For now, though, my studies are running
side-by-side with filming and it is really good to be back on Harry Potter. Obviously, I miss all my friends at school and
the life I have built while I have been away, but I am so excited about this film that it makes it a little bit easier to
be away from them all. This film feels fresh and new as everyday I am introduced to new cast members and crew. Best of all
is a new approach to the script from director, David Yates, who I feel I have learned something from already, and we're just
a short time into shooting. This year I will be back to my usual Hermione self - lots of running around, some stunts here,
and there and lots of being thrown around!

Although she told us at the London GOF premiere that she wasn't sure whether or not she would reprise her role as Padma
Patil in Order of the Phoenix, Afshan Azad, 17, has now confirmed in an interview with Manchester Online that she's coming
back for the the fifth movie. In the past few weeks, she's apparently been to read-throughs, costume fittings and make-up
sessions so she can look identical to her on-screen twin, Parvati Patil, to be played by Shefali Chowdhury. In the interview,
she also talks about her hopes to pursue a career in journalism and possibly acting after she finishes school.

Gary Oldman and David Thewlis confirmed for Phoenix
Despite reports over the weekend that Gary Oldman had not yet been contacted about his appearance in Harry Potter and

Harry Potter star Katie Leung is dumping her university plans to have her first big-screen kiss. The 18-year-old has been
signed up to return as Cho Chang for the next movie in the blockbuster series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Click this picture for more info Gary Oldman, who played Sirius Black in POA and GOF, has not yet been signed to reprise the
role of Padfoot in the next movie. His manager told GaryOldman.info: "You will be shocked and surprised to learn that
at this time there are no plans for Gary to appear in the next Harry Potter film. To say we are puzzled on this side about
this is an understatement at the every least! You may feel free to post this info. If the situation changes, I will let you
know... There would be no objection from me if fans wrote letters to Warners about this!"
It would be extremely surprising if WB cut the character of Sirius entirely from the movie as he has an enormous role
to play; this might simply mean that they'll use a different actor to fill the role. We'll keep you updated.
UPDATE: According to this article on MTV.com, Gary Oldman will return as Sirius. (Click 'Meet The Cast Of "Order
Of The Phoenix"' and flip through to image seven.)

Luna: 14-year-old Evanna Lynch from Ireland, who attended the open casting call for the role three weeks ago, will start filming
at Leavesden Studios later this month. This article from 2003 most likely describes the same Evanna Lynch; she's from Termonfeckin
in Co.

Tonks: This role will be played by Natalia Tena. She's starred in the BBC drama Casualty and acted in movies such as About
a Boy.

Umbridge: She has been rumored to play the part for months now (saying it herself on GMTV), and WB has now officially confirmed
that Imelda Staunton will play the nasty DADA teacher.

Bellatrix: Helen McCrory will play Sirius' cousin. She's appeared in the film, Count of Monte Cristo.
